In the construction industry, time is of the essence, and any delay can lead to significant cost overruns and project setbacks. Our client (materials supplier) needed a solution to address these last-minute material shortage orderd and ensure that their own client's projects stayed on schedule.
We developed an integrated system consisting of a web app and two mobile apps, one for clients and another for the delivery crew. The web app allows construction managers to request materials on demand, monitor delivery statuses, and coordinate with on-site teams. The client mobile app provides an easy interface for placing urgent orders, tracking deliveries in real-time, and ensuring that the right materials arrive when needed. The delivery crew's mobile app, on the other hand, streamlines the pick-up and delivery process, ensuring that the materials are delivered to the construction site as quickly as possible.
A key feature of this system is the smart notification system for pick-up personnel. This system dynamically prioritizes urgent orders based on the type of material, the urgency of the request, and the proximity of the delivery crew. This allows for the rapid delivery of specialized materials such as piping, drywall, concrete molds, and construction wood, often within hours instead of the typical 1-2 business days. By minimizing delays and ensuring materials are available on-site exactly when needed, this system has dramatically reduced project timelines and increased overall efficiency.
